The Story Behind Antique Cats Archive™

Antique Cats Archive™ began with a feeling—
the kind you get when holding something old in your hands.

Antique objects have always carried a quiet weight.
A sense that they’ve lived a life before reaching you.
Every mark, every detail feels like part of a story that was never fully told.

I’ve always been drawn to that.

Some of those objects represent remarkable human achievement—
inventions, tools, and crafts that shaped everyday life in the 1800s.
They reflect a level of care and intention that feels increasingly rare.

At the same time, I’ve spent my life surrounded by cats.

I currently have four, and I still find myself stopping to watch them—
their independence, their personalities, the way each one is entirely distinct.
There’s something fascinating about them. Something timeless.

My cat George became The Founder—the first piece in this archive.

At some point, these two interests began to connect.

The idea emerged to create something that could preserve both—
the history of 19th-century professions, and the quiet beauty of cats—
in a way that felt intentional, cohesive, and lasting.

Antique Cats Archive™ is the result of that.

Each design is part of an imagined collection—
a place where cats take on the roles of the past,
and where those professions are remembered, not forgotten.

In a way, this archive exists to hold two things at once:

A respect for what came before us—
and an appreciation for what still exists around us.
